things i've been considering (8/13/24)
think least of death
when dawn breathes light /
let your first thought be
of its gossamer threads
of its golden fingers tracing
the mountain’s face
waking the world
from its temporary end.
think least of death
when the wind blows cold /
let your thoughts float
over the cliffs and moors
over the cities and streets
and race towards foreign shores
where language is breathing
and freedom is everything.
think least of death
when the ocean swells deep /
let your thoughts run
with the tides
with their whims
and let your mind
find peace in the fragile
safety of the coastline.
think least of death
when the moon is full /
let your last thought be
of the echoing silence
of the eternal transience
that brings life to Balance
and spins so fearlessly
beside its imminent end.
